about

Our society is finally grappling with the question “What of police?” Finally, we turn our gaze to those that prey on us in our homes, in our streets, and in our communities. People have begun to think that perhaps punishment is crime. Perhaps the police are not, as many in our society have figured, beacons leading us toward a brighter tomorrow, but are in fact vestiges of our brutal past. Perhaps law is not the great sum of human morality, but instead our fears and ill will made flesh. Perhaps, through our fear of violent thugs in our streets, we have brought about that very reality in the form of police.

To those who struggle daily against the weight of punishment as crime. To those who can envision a future without police. To those who bare the great weight of systematic injustice. To you, we offer this small, angry piece of commiseration.

Thought crime, full time.

“…and I have fought against the crime, and I have fought and I have sacrificed myself even to eliminate the crimes that the law and the church legitimate and sanctify.”
-Excerpted from the Last Statement of Bartolomeo Vanzetti, 1929

lyrics

Watch out!
Watch them hate watch them hate,
and abuse the position this power structure creates.
One side,
watch them kill watch them kill,
because protection of property is the corporate will.
Fight back,
take the streets take the streets,
and watch allies turn on you like they work for police.
I’m sick,
from another kid dead,
and how we can’t win against the cops in our heads.

Dark or not, your blood runs cold.
The police are here, and they’re going to hurt your friends with all they have.

Watch out!
Watch them hate watch them hate,
and abuse the position this power structure creates.
One side,
watch them kill watch them kill,
because protection of property is the corporate will.
They kill,
they can’t stop, they can’t stop,
because fatal violence is part of the job,
Scream out,
end the silence the silence,
police are a manifestation of state sponsored violence.

Under siege by killer cops.
